That's correct, Lucas. It seems functions are more than just stored procedures. Functions are also part of new data types as well (though are not required to be). http://postgresql.readysetnet.com/users-lounge/docs/7.0/programmer/xfunc.htm has the description of them, which I share for any fledgeling PGSQL programmers out there like myself.
