They're feeding you a major line. Wednesday evening I spent a bit of time trying to figure out what was going on. None of the "high" level domains were working. ie: az.home.com was resolving, but all hosts for chnd1.az.home.com and phnx1.az.home.com returned as "Non-existent domain". I queried several DNS servers, the one they told me to use when I signed up, their authoritative server dns1.home.com ,and my own caching nameserver. All returned the same results. Today, all of them are giving good answers. Considering that I run a caching nameserver, this means that the DNS had been down long enough for the "expires" time on the records to elapse. There may have been an additional problems with their mailservers, but they *definitely* had a major screw up with their DNS. Michael J. I use IP directed addressing here (no names, just numbers) and all the servers appeared to have the same problem. Also, according to tier II support level, it seems that the last crash lasted somewhere in the neighborhood of 28 hours (it was a total server malfunction.). the very last malfunction ocurred overnight here and affected all e-mail accounts located within arizona. I did ask if this was a DNS issue, and was told no. so there you have it. hawke Michael Sheldon wrote: > > Yeah, they REALLY screwed up their DNS a couple of days ago.
