\_ Up until the last year or so, though in my experience, you had to build \_ your own kernel if you had things like sound card, root on a scsi drive or \_ a number of other things. Maybe I just didn't give the dist kernels enough \_ of a chance. IIRC, RH has supported my adaptec scsi card out of the box for longer than that.... Hmmm, let me rephrase that, "RH on initial install has supported my scsi card", cuz the last time I check, cards out of the box/chassis just don't work. :-) David
