Hello All! I'm having a problem with VNC Server working on Mandrake 7.1 I've tried installing from RPMs, the ATT binaries and source, and nothing seems to work. My problem is this: When i start the vncserver program it loads up, but when i connect to my server nothing is there (just a checker pattern) The log file shows this: 20/10/00 20:53:39 Xvnc version 3.3.3r1 20/10/00 20:53:39 Copyright (C) AT&T Laboratories Cambridge. 20/10/00 20:53:39 All Rights Reserved. 20/10/00 20:53:39 See http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc for information on VNC 20/10/00 20:53:39 Desktop name 'X' (ns1.xlh.net:1) 20/10/00 20:53:39 Protocol version supported 3.3 20/10/00 20:53:39 Listening for VNC connections on TCP port 5901 20/10/00 20:53:39 Listening for HTTP connections on TCP port 5801 20/10/00 20:53:39 URL http://ns1.xlh.net:5801 Font directory '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/' not found - ignoring AUDIT: Fri Oct 20 20:53:42 2000: 2173 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from IP 24.221.33.28 port 2164 Xlib: connection to "ns1.xlh.net:1.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server xrdb: Can't open display 'ns1.xlh.net:1' AUDIT: Fri Oct 20 20:53:42 2000: 2173 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from IP 24.221.33.28 port 2165 Xlib: connection to "ns1.xlh.net:1.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server xsetroot: unable to open display 'ns1.xlh.net:1' AUDIT: Fri Oct 20 20:53:42 2000: 2173 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from IP 24.221.33.28 port 2166 Xlib: connection to "ns1.xlh.net:1.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server twm: unable to open display "ns1.xlh.net:1" AUDIT: Fri Oct 20 20:53:42 2000: 2173 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from IP 24.221.33.28 port 2167 Xlib: connection to "ns1.xlh.net:1.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server Warning: This program is an suid-root program or is being run by the root user. I don't know why this would be happing, and I know that regular X runs fine. The box itself has two eth addapters, eth0 (24.221.33.28) and eth1 (10.1.1.1) used for internet access and a internal network. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks! Matt G.
