IANA's list of common port assignments is at www.isi.edu/in-notes/iana/assignments/port-numbers which can be handy ... but then again any user program can listen to any port it wants >1023 (or any at all if it's run as root) .. so try netstat -p and it should tell you what the name of the program listening is.
