Another thing to remember I think is what you charge. If I didn't have a computer I could easily go down to the library and access the internet from there for free. Granted, may not be on there for as long as I'd like to, but I could get what I needed done and be on my way. Maybe you should think about setting up a cybercafe for gamers. Put together a good LAN w/good computers(I don't game so I know nothing about the requirements), license about a dozen good games, and offer it as a kind of alternative arcade. Given the popularity of gaming I'd say this is far more marketable than a cybercafe. -----Original Message----- From: Hawke [mailto:proudhawk19021@home.com] Sent: Saturday, August 26, 2000 11:13 AM To: plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us Subject: Re: New business startup help/suggestions/info needed -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- that is outside the scope of my experience. There are additional problems with resturants. I'm stickin with the idea I have (since no one seems to want to hire me). What I do think would do well is a well-run restaurant with a computer at every table. This is to suggest that you think primarily in terms of a restaurant that offers good food and good service. The point is, nobody *needs* to drive across town and pay a fee to go online. But everyone *does* need to eat, and they will pick the most appealing surroundings in which to do so. The computers can be used to order meals and drinks, request a waitperson, pay the tab, surf, play games, flirt with other guests, etc. But they should be incidental to the business. Start a good restaurant in Mesa or Gilbert. We need one. Country French would be nice. :-) -- Rod - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset Systems Preconfigured Linux Computers http://www.sunsetsystems.com/ and Custom Software - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ________________________________________________ See http://PLUG.phoenix.az.us/navigator-mail.shtml if your mail doesn't post to the list quickly and you use Netscape to write mail.
