This is very sensitive question. You going to find as many supporters of vi as you find of emacs. They are both great text editors for code. I personally prefer VIM http://www.vim.org it allows for syntax highlighting and a lot of other cools stuff. One plus for VIM you have all your controls on the main keyboard. You do not have to go to the arrow keys. Everything is just there. It takes some time to get used to the structure of editing in VI but it is very much worth the effort. Good luck. The Wolf BTW. HTML police is watching you. ;-) -> -----Original Message----- -> From: joel@silverw.com [mailto:joel@silverw.com] -> Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2000 11:25 AM -> To: Plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us -> Subject: editors -> -> -> This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -> -> -> ------=_NextPart_000_03D1_01C00DBD.E0C15300 -> Content-Type: text/plain; -> charset="iso-8859-1" -> Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable -> -> Like I had previously stated to the PLUG, I am teaching myself = -> programming.
