Here is what I have found. =========== From StarOffice.com Windows Support forum: -------------- Does StarOffice support Lotus WordPro file types (LWP) ?? User tried to open a WP attachment and it opens as jibberish in a NotePad Session. Try to open the saved attachment within StarOffice and see no file type listed for WordPro. -------------- If there are no file types for WordPro then it means it is not supported. Try saving the wordpro file into RTF for easy and transparent transfer of files between the two applications. -------------- I don't think that =any= program will import Word Pro files, due to Lotus not making their format available. Word Pro is currently my favorite wp, but I'm seeking to switch to SO due primarily to its multi-OS availability. =========== From stardivision.com.support.starwriter newsgroup: -------------- Is there a filter available for Lotus WordPro files to be read with StarOffice? -------------- No one has the Wordpro filters as LOTUS/IBM have never released the specifications. Also if you have the downloaded version, the Lotus filters are absent due to legal reasons. If you have the CD version, you need to do a custom install and choose Lotus. mind you it's for import only not export =========== So, unless someone has any further information, I guess I am stuck with translating twice. Does the CD really have the Lotus import filters? Can they be aquired without buying the CD? Is someone bringing the CD to copy at the meeting tomorrow? ;^) Or does that break the licence?
