Responsibilities encompass the daily operation of the Network Operations Center (NOC), which proactively monitors the company's communications backbone infrastructure and provides technical customer/carrier assistance. Manages technical resolution of network related problems, provides operational support for business development, and executes technical projects as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer. Supervises NOC staff, contractors, vendors, and consultants as required. MUST be a U.S. Citizen / green card / permanent resident. ---- Major Responsibilities This is a technical management position with global service impact being the primary job responsibility, including the correct operation of the company's communications infrastructure. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the NOC operation of the backbone networks, encompassing the delivery of business communications and Internet services. Provides technical and operations support to ensure reliable new technology rollout and proper network services performance in a 7x24x365 environment. Network Operations Center (NOC) problem reporting, tracking and resolution, fault isolation and service restoration. ---- Skills/Abilities * Demonstrated ability to manage the day-to-day operation of the infrastructure networks in a production environment supporting critical applications. * Skill in performing complex, network performance analysis. * Demonstrated skill in supervising Network Operations Center (NOC) organization to ensure network services availability on a 7x24x365 basis. * Ability to develop and maintain operations procedures and technical documents. * Demonstrated technical skill in fault isolation and problem resolution in a production, multi-protocol environment. * Detailed knowledge of IP network management system architectures, technologies, and standards (WAN/MAN, ATM, Frame Relay, VPN, Virtual Routing, Packet over SONET, MPLS, etc.), and applicable industry standards and communications protocols. * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with company and vendor support organizations. ---- Experience and Education 3-5 years of recent, direct, related experience in network operations management.
