To answer my own question in case anyone else is interested, the program is xvidtune. It only seems to do a temporary centering and sizing of the desktop image for that session only. However, you launch this program in an xterm window and after adjusting and "applying" each change to your satisfaction you would press the "show" button. Now look at the xterm window and copy down the numbers. If you then search the /etc/X11/XF86Config file you can hopefully spot the line of numbers that you are using and edit them to the numbers off the xterm window earlier. I correctly chose the right line by knowing exactly the frequency ranges for my monitor and the resolution I was running xvidtune in. Can't write to the XF86Config file because it's read only? Log in as root. Good luck. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Keyser Soze" To: "PLUG" Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2000 12:22 AM Subject: Which program centers your desktop onto the monitor image? > Just installed RedHat 6.2 and I'm using it in a dual boot.
