Welcome back!  A laptop for graduation?  geesh, you're lucky.  I am
graduating from college and I will be lucky to get a copy of Suse 6.4 as a
gift :-(.  I just got redhat up on a Hitachi laptop and it found the
touchpad no prob.  Dunno about compaq though.
