there's probably something out there for nixen, but, fp has a tool called
resample that compresses the hell out of an image...eg, an image i did went
from 22k to under 8k

Always start out with big graphics...  gives you more flexibility.. rescale
em with gimp and save em at 75 quality as jpg, or as png's...  they should
