-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Steve, they claim to be doing 80+ hour weeks, but the majority of the techs I have met out here tend to be nice guys and generally get off my 8 P.M. each night. The last Guy I spoke with out here was installing a DSL circuit for another of my neighbors and from what he told me, they are only working him 4/10's (4days/10hours each). It seems tha USWESt is trying like hell not to have to pay any overtime. I did ask him what was up with my line and he ran some tests... Apparently he wasn't happy with the results and asked me if I had called anyone in the office about it. I told him so, and even gave names... From what he told me, it looks like my particular service was FUBAR right from the start, and that the techs in the main office don't appear willing to correct the problem anytime soon...... so, I guess I am screwed for DSL service for a while. They had someone come through the neighborhood on foot hyping it; they called twice over about a 2 month span pitching it; they sent mail with "special incentives"; Cox TV service kept sucking worse... I finally said "sign me up!". They replied: "Oh, it's not available in your area yet, call back." Doh. Anyway, now that I've _finally_ got it (data and TV) I've been really pleased with it - aside from the totally rigged "field expedient" air drop phone line they strung along my block wall, but WTF, it works. All of the techs involved claimed to be doing 80+ hour weeks, FWIW.
