Play around with the GUI that appears when you type in: Xconfigurator --expert You can also edit /etc/lilo.conf and add the following line: vga=773 after default=linux...(NOTE: vga=773 will drive the display at 1024x768x8, use vga=771 for 800x600x8, use vga=769 for 640x480x8) Sincerely, Quintus Schulzke Stuart Foster on 06/01/2000 08:01:00 AM Please respond to plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us To: "'plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us'" cc: Subject: Newbie Help.... Hi all, I am new to the Linux community, and have recently installed RH 6.2 on a test machine for the first time. I was impressed how easy the installation process was. I used the KDE workstation installation, figured GUI would help while I learn. My problem right now is that I am using a 14in monitor and the resolution is set to 640x480 and many of the windows are to large for the screen. So my question is how do I change the resolution. Also the installation process didn't pick up my Sound Blaster Pro, how do I add it. Any help would be appreciated. I look forward to meeting all of you at the meetings, however it's looking like August is the first one I'll be able to attend.
