(I used to have a printer with a serial interface connected to my linux box.) 2) Take a look at netatalk. (See http://thehamptons.com/anders/netatalk/) This package does for the Mac what samba does for the PC. I used to use netatalk to share my linux hard disk with my Mac and to print documents from my Mac to a printer connected to my linux box. I have no idea if the reverse direction (which is your problem) is possible. You will want to carefully read the netatalk documentation to find out. Kevin
