I personally find it hard to resist the allure of a Sun workstation for some reason. If I were not a college student I could MAYBE dream of affording one. You can find some pretty sweet Alpha deals on Ebay. I have drulled over them from time to time. If you want to get real funky you can get some SGI indys for about 700 bucks with a 21" monitor on Ebay. I guess this doesnt really help you make a decision, but I hope it makes your options more diverse. - Joel ----- Original Message ----- From: Nathan Saper To: Sent: Monday, April 03, 2000 1:16 AM Subject: Re: Workstations > On Sun, 2 Apr 2000, Kevin Brown wrote: > > > Date: Sun, 02 Apr 2000 21:49:19 -0700 > > From: Kevin Brown > > Reply-To: plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us > > To: plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us > > Subject: Re: Workstations > > > > > OK, here's the deal: I'm gonna buy a workstation for general use (serving > > > up web pages, surfing the 'Net, apps development, etc.), and I'd love some > > > suggestions.
