\_ found that the limit of total number of mode lines for
\_ Xfree86 is 128.  I now use about 80 modelines rangeing from
\_ low 240x300 up to 1600x1200.

use the source, fix that nasty 128 limit.  :-)

now I have to wonder  why you would "use about 80" modelines?  

I've got three or four active....

1600x1200 primary
1280x1024
1024x768
 640x480 for shoulder surfers/demos
