    Not having libdvdcss in the flatpak sandbox would probably be the
    culprit.  I just tried installing the flatpak myself to see if I
    could figure out how to make handbrake aware of the dvdcss library
    and immediately remembered why I got rid of any and all flatpak
    stuff on my system.  It wanted to download a gigabyte of support
    flatpak crap to go along with the handbrake install.  That might be
    fine if I was going to use a ton of flatpaked stuff, but it's seems
    rather excessive for the one or 2 flatpaks I've ever come across
    that I might want.  <br class="">
    ...so it didn't get installed.  I'll find a different way to get the
    latest version on my system.<br class="">
