However, I have to install that using flatpack of flapjack(?), and there is nothing in the repository for that for Ubuntu 14.04 - only 16.04. </div><div><br></div><div>I have been resisting the upgrade to 16.04 because I don't want to spend a lot of time fixing all the resulting broken stuff. I keep my system updated on a weekly basis. Your biggest problem is going to be finding a decent video editor
with such and old linux install. I would recommend kdenlive, but
they only have current versions in their PPA for versions of ubuntu
going back to 16.04 (Xenial).<br>
You might do OK with a version of kdenlive from 14.04, but it was a
little fairly rough back then, and it's come a long long way in the
last 4 year.<br>

For video, you'll want to get some recent versions of whatever
software you find as video editing in general has come a long way in
recent years, and most video editors are based off the same core
libraries (ffmpeg and the MeLT framework)<br>
