Mike,

I don't know you, but I suggest that you slow down and take a couple
of deep breaths.

Think before panicking.

You are tearing things up faster than you or anyone can possibly
deal with them.

You seem to have internet connections. I base this on the
communications you are generating.

You changed something and now you seem to have networking problems.
Then you reset your router.
Now you are talking about replacing your modem/router. Isn't it
working? Aren't you on line? or are you using a phone for e-mail.

It makes a difference in working toward a solution.

Now you are asking for network help for a computer issue?
Is the computer futzed up. or have the network settings been futzed
up?

Futzed? I am trying to be polite.

Remember, If It Ain't Broke Don't Futz With It

Figure out what your problem is first, by thinking, looking (did I
plug the right shit into the right places? Did I break a wire in one
of my connectors? Did I damage a port?)

Then go from there.
I don't have the carrier dropped problem but that might be
because I am using the router as a switch. Thoughts?
is
interesting....
I reboot the

the login

Well, it
wouldn't type.
Then a message
appeared
saying:
stuck for 24s!
[Xorg: 1465]
then it would say
that again.
sometimes it would
say:

BUG: soft
lockup- CPU#0
stuck for 24s!
[Kworker/0:2.68]

actually I think the
decimal is just a
character that isn't
showing up fully
because at another
line that appeared
the decimalwas like
a dot towards the
top of the line and
there were lots of
characters that
weren't all there.
