<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_extra">I am all done with the linux from scratch base install but before I go on to beyond linux from scratch the recomendation is to installĀ some programs first. (lynx, gpm, sudo, openssl, openssh, wget, and parted)<br>I installed lynx with no problems.
Then, after unpacking gpm, and after I cd into the gpm directory, the
terminal froze. I couldn't <enter> nor <^C>. I shut the terminal
down and then started another one and now I can't ssh into the lfs box. I then just restarted the lfs box and then ran 'ip addr show'
and it says the ip address isn't what it was. It was 192.168.0.14 but
now it is <a href="http://169.254.11.37/16" target="_blank">169.254.11.37/16</a> .<br></div><div class="gmail_extra">Two questions, <br>Why did it change from one private address to another and in another subnet?<br></div><div class="gmail_extra">I'm thinking I'm going to need to start over from the beginning; is that so?<br></div><div class="gmail_extra">Well, I guess three questions:<br></div>How could I ssh into this network or else reassign the ip to something in the 192.168.x.y range<div>:-)~MIKE~(-:</div>
