<div dir="ltr"><div>what does that command do? I thought that it installed what you compiled with make. but at as I am working through linux from scratch I get to perl and it says:<br><br>Only a few of the utilities and libraries, need to be installed at this time:<br>

cp -v perl cpan/podlators/pod2man /tools/bin<br>mkdir -pv /tools/lib/perl5/5.18.2<br>cp -Rv lib/* /tools/lib/perl5/5.18.2<br><br></div>so is it installing the files with cp?  is 'make install' just another way to say 'cp'?<br clear="all">
