As I read about CI, I read that CI had an ugly hack so it would be backwardly compatible to PHP 4.  One thing I have not been able to find is what that hack actually was.</div><div style="font-style:normal;font-size:16px;background-color:transparent;font-family:times new roman,new york,times,serif">
