<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">I have NEVER been able to get my Linux
machine (Kubuntu 13.04) to see a “Shared” device on my network
and access it.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">I have samba and smb4k GUI</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">It SEES the device but asks for a
password.... that doesn't exist. <br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Really folks, I KNOW it is simple,
but (I) cannot figure it out. It the blessing and curse of linux.

Been running it for abt 5 yrs and I have NEVER had two machines
that
could see shares, linux or otherwise.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">MY guess is that it is something in
the
smb.conf but damned if (I) know WHAT. I truly am clueless at this
point.<br>
