mb? That's about the rate I got when I had 1.5 Mbit from Qworst
years ago. It's my understanding that bandwidth is determined by
your ISP. The more you pay, the more you get. With DSL the
quality of the line between the phone company's local office and
your home is the main limiting factor with DSL. Of course the
longer the line is, the lower the maximum possible speed is. I
live about 1000 feet or so and AT&T tells me I could get 20
Mb, but they don't offer that speed here.
175 is a number, without context of what unit that 175 is
its just a
number, between 150 and 200. :-)

remember a few weeks ago when someone post a link some young

made on speeding up a person's internet by putting a strand
of cat5

next to your existing cat 5? Everyone said that was stupid
but I did
it anyways. Well, my download speeds seem to have increased.
Prior
to my experiment I used to stay around 145 while maxing at
159. Now
I am usually at 175 and it goes down to 159. Maybe I'm just
paying

closer attention but if someone has some spare cat 5 test it
and

tell me I'm right or just being stupid:)
