GNOME or KDE?

You can just install the new window manager to try it out and select it
when you login. Typically you can use a small gear icon to switch the
window manager on the login page before pressing enter or clicking the
button to login. My Fedora desktop has KDE Plasma, Gnome, Mint, and
Cinnamon, of which Gnome is my least favorite. It seems designed for a
touch screen or tablet. You can run KDE/Gnome apps on Mint, Cinnamon, etc
if it's installed even if you're not running it.
