New Router Purchase

I also had one go bad. I used to think the same thing about the resiliency
of a router or network device. My wireless would sporadically drop and
reconnect. After replacing the router, I haven’t had any issues. I like the
Netgear Nighthawk series. Of course, get in there and make sure WPS is
disabled, guest settings are either disabled or protected, etc.
