Ubuntu 18.04lts - cannot find bcmath package

I got to thinking... why would Ubuntu 16.04lts be supported into 2021
and have PHP 7.0 a part of the mix? There is no option to update to PHP
7.1.x.   

Then I stated to think maybe they backport.  Sure enough they do :
