It's interesting that you say that. It seems to me we (people in 
general) have really bad memories. Didn't they ultimately decide to fork 
and leave Gnome because the developers of Gnome refused to work with and 
or cooperate with the Canonical guys? The Gnome people haven't changed 
one bit, so Canonical must have forgotten and they suddenly think the 
Gnome guys will welcome their code bits? I don't see that happening at 
all. It is a shame the development will be lost, and more of a shame 
that future development will just be a complete waste.

I am a proud Gnome hater. I am an even prouder KDE supporter, so I 
second your opinion!
