HOWTO get a Cisco AnyConnect VPN working on Linux

Same here - I use openconnect inside of network manager for a number of
clients, myself included.

Your problem is the company enforces the CSD trojan, or the "host check"
that wants to do posture analysis of the system at a local level outside
java. Even network manager has "enable csd trojan" options in there for
it, so might work with the script you listed, or might not be needed
with nm.

I never really found a company aside from Cisco themselves that used the
CSD trojan, especially since their options are useless for linux
anyways, they're usually just exempted as a host os decision if doing
posture. At least that's what I've done doing anyconnect posture policies.
