internet problem

I'm thinking it is the router. Look what I found here
<http://seriousbirder.com/blogs/linux-kernel-bug-soft-lockup-cpu1-stuck/>:
{
“kernel:… [5710660.580043] BUG: soft lockup – CPU#0 stuck …”
This error message appeared up to 10 times a day, different processes,
random times. Couldn’t find an answer anywhere. Also had frequent “carrier
dropped” messages on the cable modem interface. Replacing the cable modem
solved both problems.
}
I don't have the carrier dropped problem but that might be because I am
using the router as a switch. Thoughts?
