Installfest today

The question that came up about the first installfest in 2003 -

The person we helped organize the installfest with was George Gambill.
Myself and Rares Marian worked with him in organizing the event and
assisted users on the Debian installations. Good times!

By the way, I did stop going right at the beginning. We had some breakout
sessions if I recall. I did one on Gimp and video editing. It was a lot of
fun, but nothing as great as the past few times hanging out with you guys!

So, anyway, Rares Marian was a guy who was into Amiga stuff, freedom and
worked on Freenet back in 2000. I met him when he was at WPI, in Mass and
part of the DVD discuss/DeCSS thing at Harvard's Berkman Center for
Internet and Society. Yes, I was married to Rares for like a day and half
because I am so bad with paperwork.. and a terrible judge of character!

He left the group when he moved back to Connecticut, so that is his
excuse...

I have no excuses... or actually I can come up with tons!

I don't really know what happened to George...
I looked him up and OMG... he was at Computer Guidance 2 years before I
started there - about the same time we worked on the installfest. LMAO.

This is such a small tech town!
