flat screens

Post screen is your bios. No drivers or os just a power On self test (post)
to see if the card is sending anything to the display.

The use of a live CD was to see if it was an OS config issue or not.  I
have had interesting moments where I had to define my displays in detail
before x would work. Not usually an issue much anymore but this is a good
check to see if it is the case.
