Are Social Networking Sites Reducing Activity on This List?

Well three are elements that I like about a forum vs email.

I can target what I am reading about at a given time. I can skip threads I
am not as interested in. Its easier to go back and look something up.

But there is something about an email list that is different that I would
miss if it went away. I guess it is more personal being one of the top
things I like about it. Also this group specifically is pretty unique among
any other collection of minds which also keeps this list as the only
mailing list I remain a part of.
