I thought that the point of yum was to do automatic dependency 
resolution.  In 2000, before yum, RPM dependency hell was much worse.

Hear hear!  I don't understand the "make everything look like an 
iKindlNexusPad" trend.  I think it's because somebody somewhere decided 
that tablets are the awesome hip cool thing, so everything must look 
like them, no matter what that does to functionality or usability.  And 
putting touch screens on vertically mounted monitors seems like a bad 
idea, at least if http://www.catb.org/jargon/html/G/gorilla-arm.html is 
anything to go by.  Mice may be deprecated at some point, since 
everybody will obviously have a FooTablet and use it for everything in 
the future.
