Help avoiding using terminal editors

Can you possibly use Kate? If you have access to kate, or even kwrite
(though it does not have as many features) you could click File -> Open and
in the address bar type

sftp://root@SERVERNAME/PATH/TO/FILE

Then edit and save directly without any additional need to copy here or
there or anywhere!
