moin moin,

cyber-forensics class at MCC from a Phoenix police officer. It's supposed
to cover both *NIX and windows.

Most of the GNU/Linux classes are full :). The MySQL class is full! The
Free Software program is doing well at both MCC and Estrella Mountain.

ciao,

Subject: Cyber Forensics Class - Saturday!

Hey all you Networking Academy types:

We have a Cyber Forensics class that starts this Saturday (8:00am – 11:30am) and runs for 16 weeks. The description is below; however the pre-requisite can be waived for students who have already taken MST150, CIS126DL, or CNT140AA. This is an exciting class that has relevance for both the private and public sector, including law enforcement.

If you have any students who might be interested, they need to contact Jessica at 480-461-7771 as soon as possible. The class needs a couple more people to insure it will run.

CIS 247DA – Cyber Forensics and Incident Handling:
Forensic and advanced incident handling techniques in a lab setting with hands-on skills in incident response, forensic preparation, Windows forensics, UNIX and Linux forensics, data recovery and analysis, malicious code analysis, law enforcement interaction and case law, corporate and managerial legal concerns and direction. Prepares students for GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) Certification and IACIS Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) certification. Prerequisites: CIS270.

About the instructor:
Detective Eric Oldenburg is an 18 year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department. In 2001 he began working computer, network and Internet related crimes and was one the original 4 detectives assigned to the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) federal task force. In 2007, Detective Oldenburg was assigned full time as a computer forensic investigator and processes computers, cell phones and other digital evidence on a daily basis.

I will be glad to answer any further questions .

Bob
