CPU upgrade?

With Windows it would, but welcome to Linux, lol.  Most distros have already optimized their kernel for multi-core.  Those that havent will have a kernel package without, and a second one with a -smp in the name.  If your distro is one that has separate package and you don't have the smp kernel loaded, simply install the smp kernel.  However, most of the time now-a-days, its completely not needed.
