A few words about Truecrypt. Overall I really like truecrypt, of course there are risks when using any kind of encryption. If the volume gets corrupt the chances of recovering data are slim to none. An obvious easy solution is: Backup. :) The chances of a truecrypt volume failing as well as a truecrypt backup volume failing at the same time are very low.
