I used IPCop for a combined 10+ years at home and work. Never once
did I have to recompile anything. Never did I have a breach, that I
know about (Never say never). Never did I have an update problem.
Never did the computer crash. The work installation was running 4
subnets and OpenSWAN based VPN on a 250MHz computer with no hiccups.
We once thought it was a bottle neck during a performance drop but was
able to prove the IPCop box was not the problem via the statistics it
tracks and graphs. All of that flexibility and reliability with an
easy to use web interface for no cost and little effort. IPCop is
great!

I could not imagine trying to setup and maintain the same services on
my own, unless I was trying to learn all about how it works.
