ext3 vs ext4

Ext4 is no longer in beta as of Kernel 2.6.28.x

Ext4 requires that you use e2fsprogs v1.41.x or higher

You *CAN* convert ext3 to ext4 AND use extents.  Read how at the link
above.  And I am using ext4 for everything except /boot, and yes it
*feels* faster, and though I don't do the benchmarking thing, I like the
feeling.

Know the truth :)  Check the link above, and check kernel.org, the more
official sources.
