OS & hardware issues?(more info)

Here is more info about what I want to do! The motherboard (4gig ram)(Bus =
800) and CPU is new. So I want to move this motherboard and CPU(3.4Mhz) to a
box to run Mandriva 2007 spring pack. Harddrive is SATA I have not used IDE
drives for a long time. The problem with the existing motherboard and CPU is
that I have Vista Ultimate loaded on that computer and it is driving my CPU
crazy. Everything is new and it just seems that Vista doesn't like my
Board! So I am thinking about moving that OS to a Dual Core Board and a
higher MHz CPU.
Any insights?
Thanks
Mike Enriquez
