DHCP and BIND are staples of a local LAN

I suggest that you use something like webmin <http://www.webmin.com> to
setup/configure/maintain both as it does simplify some of it.

The point of DHCP and BIND is basic networking - you probably need to
learn about basic networking.

You might find something like Brennan's home networking guide (written
for Fedora Core 5 but certainly tracks with any Red Hat/Fedora
packaging)

NFS is UNIX/Linux file sharing. All operating systems have a native
method for filesharing. NFS supports UNIX uid/gid & file locking. Only
NFS v4 has security. LDAP is really useful in a multi-server, multi-user
LAN environment to ensure consistent uid's & gid's across the LAN

That said, you really need to do your own homework and research these
things for yourself as this list tends to do better at concrete
questions. Theoretical questions will get a diversity of opinions which
may not provide clarity for your purposes.
