Unless

1) it is the only means available, or
2) you know that there are frequently people at the location who check
the list as often happens during an installfest.

BTW, I did get a reply although it was direct to me rather than being
posted on the list and it was not an answer to my question.

NTL, you are correct, it is NOT a good method.  Just happened to be
the only one available short of a 50 mile drive.
