Sorry I don't have a solution for you, but I wanted to respond to this 
part.

I have installed plesk and have maintained some plesk servers for a couple 
years.

A few things I don't like:

- I did some Plesk migrations and the system took over 24 hours for a 
small domain to migrate to other system. Some took so long I had to stop.

- If you disable local deliveries (forwarding only), then you can't have 
SMTP AUTH.

- If you want forwarding only and forget to disable local deliveries, the 
same mail will be also delivered locally filling up your disk space.

- Its own custom qmail setup is not standard (then again that is common :)
(Anyone use plesk with postfix instead?)

- Uses open source software to create proprietary lock-in.
