As DX may have already mentioned, there will be a DeLUG meeting this
coming Monday, at a new location at the ASU - West Library. All our

Hey everyone,

Our next meeting will be at both a new time and location. As I
mentioned a long time ago, DeLUG has been in the long and awkward
process of becoming more oriented towards the larger linux community
of the West Valley, and as such it was decided in 2005 that we should
begin holding meetings outside of DeVry--outside of DeVry being where
our most active membership is--and after some research into locations
around the valley that would best suit our needs, we've decided to
give the ASU - West library a shot. The venue offers the (shockingly
rare) combination of caffeine and free WiFi (even for non-students)
while also proving a projector and a number of comfortable meeting
areas not being commandeered by instructors pressured to do so by lack
of teaching space where and when they need it. Visitor parking isn't
free however, but all the more reason to carpool/bike/walk/unicorn
your way there. Of course, if you still have no practical means of
getting yourself to ASU West, feel free to join us virtually on EVO in
the Universe channel in the DeLUG Meeting space.

Now... about our topic. Hands-on projects like the distcc/mplayer
demonstration of Dec. 2005 have been on our agenda for some time, but
lacked the interest and resources need to get something going. That
has changed, as we have now partnered with the Ubuntu Arizona team to
use our currently defunct security research server as a web server and
linux educational tool of our collaborative design. I would like to
invite and encourage anyone interested to participate. There will be
a need for talent in the fields of server configuration, system
administration, web /+ application development, and anything else we
come up with at this meeting. If you have ideas, this is your
opportunity to put them on the table.
