Doubt it. It's a 100% Windows school, right down to the servers. The only sign of Linux there is their off-site webserver which I believe has Fedora...

Although, I am kind of inspired by Texas taking up ODF... Maybe it is possible... But I have to know the teachers first, so perhaps I'll start evangelizing in my Sophomore year.

Hey, I was president of ASULUG and I could not hack my way out of a brown paper bag.... Though some how I have convinced others I can... When I was in Jr. High I started a computer club, their were only about four or five of us and we mostly did it because it meant we got to skip out on class and hang out in the computer lab during mandatory club time (something like the last two hours of school on third Wednesday of the month or something... in high school I had ROTC with the same friends so the computer club died, but that was not the point, really...)

Point is you don't need to know how to hack, you just need to have some people who want to hang out and share cool stuff... Perhaps you could even get you computer teacher or science teacher to try eduUbuntu or something...

The West-side isn't west enough. Again, I'm a kid. Who would go to a LUG meeting organized by a kid?

Ok, maybe lots of people. But how can I organize a LUG meeting? On the end-user/hacker scale, I'm a little more towards the end-user side. (Although I've convinced myself that I'm a hacker, even though I'm not :P )

There, Andrew. You already have another REAL west-sider to meet up with!

Really, we have a PLUG West Side Meeting once a month but if it's not
west enough for you, create another meeting. Just declare a day to meet
at Denny's or your garage or the closest *berto's Mexican food place.
Not need to be fancy about it at first. Just get together and talk
about your latest exploits with Linux.

Announce your intentions and get a thread going. Who knows, there may
be several REAL west-siders that want to get together over there half
way to California. ;^)
