Free vs. No Cost

I've found myself using the term 'no cost' when talking about aspects of
Free Software that don't have a financial cost.

According to dict the 1913 Webster has 19 definitions for free and it
isn't until definition that one starts getting to no cost.

In today's society free tends to be associated with no cost first before
being associated with freedom.

wordnet moves no cost up to definition 3.

Does using no cost help differentiate the no cost definition from the
unfettered and freedom definitions of free?
