There is no plan with SID. SID is a repository for programs that may
be included in a future edition of Debian. It is highly unstable and
best not used by those that don't want something to break in their
system. Since Ubuntu pulls from this repository there are always going
to be inconsistencies. There was also a big tado with Firefox and
their licensing before Etch came out hence the new IceWeasel in Debian
instead of FF.
