Hm.  A deru.com user who wants Cox instead?  Oh well, if you don't mind 
only being able to use Cox's outgoing SMTP server on port 25, and you 
don't mind not being able to run sshd on your home box, it might work 
for you.  (Unless you get their "business class" service or whatever, 
which is a bit pricy.)

I currently have a D-Link cablemodem that's pretty basic but has worked 
fine.  No 802.11, no routing--2 NICs in one desktop, iptables, little 
5-port switch = wired gateway for up to 4 machines.  I won't be using 
it when I get down to the Phoenix area on Jul. 28 since Cox's policies 
won't work for what I want to do with my Net drop.  I could sell it for 
cheap to a LUG member.  Fine Manual and all original cables included, 
natch.
